The Marshmallow Challenge: a sweet symbol of collaboration
A tower made of marshmallows? More than just a game
The task was a simple one: build the highest tower. But as so often in life, the magic is in the detail – or to put it another way, in the collaboration. The teams, comprising CEOs, managers and the creative café+co Explorers, proved that even the most unusual materials can produce great results when people work together.
It was not just a competition; it was a journey to boost the team spirit. The Marshmallow Challenge became a symbol for the creative and effective collaboration during the entire workshop in Burgenland. Our café+co Explorers proved to be veritable experts in their teams. Through the specialist knowledge and self-confidence that they had acquired during the course of the project, the café+co Explorers were the strong supporting pillars in all the working groups. They helped the managers to understand working on and with the scenarios better. Based on this, in Burgenland they worked on specific projects for the upcoming financial year together.
Under the guidance of Hélène von Reibnitz, it was possible to break down barriers that the CEOs had and to work on specific measures to strengthen our corporate group. This time, it was about handling disruptive events, so-called “wild cards”. Among the CEOs, this also strengthened their identification with the scenarios and the recognition of the need for preparation.
The result: A motivating togetherness
The energy was tangible when the groups presented their results. Together we can not only build metaphorical towers; we can also create real visions for the future.
And thus the story does not end with a sticky marshmallow at the top of a tower but with a reinforced feeling of community that the café+co employees will carry with them for a long time.
